Tuesday 1 May: Public holiday today. The beach is full and the anchorage busy.
We stay at Anse Mitan and spend the morning on the beach. In the afternoon Teo, Geta and Darius go into the Creole Village to watch a champions league semi, but the only screen showing it has a crowd of 15 people, so they are soon back to Cloudy Bay and Teo pretty disappointed at missing the match.
It’s late afternoon and we decide to move further into the bay to Le Trois Islets. No beaches here but a very peaceful anchorage right next to a golf course and the village itself. We walk through the village which is all completely shut for 1 May holiday. But we do find an ice cream at the garage.
Before we head back we visit the play grounds that are full of children playing and parents watching. So good to see public facilities well used – and just like children in France, everyone is very well behaved. Darius really likes the small slide and is intently watching all the goings on around him.
Back on Cloudy Bay we eat dinner under the lovely moonlight and cool breeze.
