Sunday 1 March, Jamaica day 7, Port Antonio: No real improvement in Oana’s condition, and I keep busy polishing the stainless steel fittings on the deck.
Oh my, 1st or March already. Where has the time gone to this season?
Oana is only very slightly improved this morning. Her temperature is down a bit and she speaks! But she is completely drained of energy and now suffering from bed-aches from lying down too long. At least I manage to get some breakfast down her this morning.
Pleasantly we receive a phone call from the doctor for an update. Very considerate of her. During the day though, Oana can hardly move from lying down and is complaining of pains and massive headache. I think she is completely dehydrated. It’s all I can do to force her to take just a few sips of water. She has severe nausea each time she drinks and even the slightest smell of food has her reaching for the bowl 🙁
My day revolves around polishing the stainless steel and popping down to see how Oana is doing. By sundown I’ve managed to polish bow to stern and Cloudy is looking pretty spiffing. Seems a long time since I did this. Goes to show how much we were relaxed and enjoying Bahamas.
In the evening I manage to get Oana into the shower, but as she can hardly lift her arms I get to wash her too. That was a first! And again she goes to bed almost comatose. I have to say that I’m rather worried about her. This is three full days of fever now. I just hope the doctor got the diagnosis right.
