Saturday 26 January, St. Barth day 6: Recovering after last night.
Earlish alarm so we can get the car returned by 9:30am. Well, early considering our late night out. We were slightly concerned because Glen had reversed into a wall 2 days ago, but all we did was scratch the already scratched rear bumper. That’s the good thing about rent-a-wrecks. If every body panel is already dented and scratched it’s hard for them to pin more damage on you! We are actually wary of getting a new car these days!
After the car is returned we take a stroll to Shell Beach to see it in day light. It’s a very nice beach and indeed, covered in lots of shells. Somehow a huge super yacht has managed to fit itself into the small bay. For sure no one else is going to be able to anchor here today!
Then it’s a bit of food shopping and back to Cloudy Bay for some R&R.
It’s 6 months since I was last home with my family and I like to see them at least twice a year. So I booked a flight to head back for 3 weeks, leaving from St. Martin next week. It will be just one stop on Air France, in Paris, to get to Bucharest.
Glen will stay to look after Cloudy Bay (and potter to his heart content) and he’ll have to feed himself! His “cooking” plan is to use up all those foods he put on board which he likes and I don’t – like Frey Bentos meat pies in a tin and pot noodles! All probably passed their sell by date but according to Glen, “they’ll be fine” 🙂
We have a quiet rest of the afternoon, and in the evening it was cinema night, watching a silly but entertaining enough movie. Complete with popcorn, of course.
Today Cloudy Bay rocked us as much as she could, same as she did all week. We are looking forward to our next calmer anchorage!
