Charleston, day 6 – admin

Monday 25 June: More admin and “hair maintenance”.
This morning the thunderstorm has cleared and we are back to sunny, hot and steamy again. Another study of the weather forecast: the strong wind front which was forecast yesterday seems to have moderated. Looks like we can leave tomorrow now.
After a leisurely morning with more admin, we catch the marina shuttle bus and head into town where we get some things posted with UPS. Then Oana heads to a hair salon while Glen goes in search of a barber shop.
By late afternoon both missions are accomplished. Glen’s hair is looking tidy again after that rather disastrous hair cut by a boy in a local village in rural St.Vincent 3 months ago. And Oana, believe it or not, has accelerated the aging process and paid to have grayish hair! She wants to be ready to hit the town in New York and Boston with a mature look :). During the process Glen is rather amused as Oana sits in the chair with dreadlocks made of silver paper. She looks ready to be in the Rio carnival parade, or a Halloween party! Can’t have her back on the boat like that, she would surely attract lightening! Thankfully the silver dreadlocks are removed to reveal the new hair colour. Very nice (Glen’s opinion!)
As luck would have it, it is pouring with rain by the time we leave the hair salon. So we order an Uber and return to Cloudy Bay where again we have a very late lunch. After which Glen starts pottering on the deck.
Cockpit gets a thorough wash and a wax; dinghy secure ready for the trip, including for the first time belly bands (straps under the dinghy, so it’s not just hanging); pole is prepared for the downwind sailing. We then retire in the cool salon for more admin on the internet. Had an attempt of editing the Barbuda video, but we got fed up within 15min. Hm, we need to get our mojo back and seriously tackle these long pending videos. Maybe tomorrow…
