Wednesday 6 May, CY day 53:
Today is quite an intensive day working on the dinghy chaps. This project is starting to break records for time-on-the-job! But it’s coming together now, finally. The 7 separate pieces of sunbrella are all sewn together and tested on the dinghy. We’re quite pleased with the result. Now just one final check for the perimeter length and I then spend all evening, till midnight, sewing the hem and adding the velcro that will hold it tight to the dinghy. Before we can go any further, we need to glue the velcro around the dinghy. That will be tomorrow’s big job…. if I have enough glue that is.
Oana continues to read her books and research travel restrictions in Romania. If we are even able to enter, we will have to quarantine for 14 days. Quarantine depends on what country you came in from. Both USA and UK are “red” countries and would require staying in a “government facility”. That doesn’t sound good! So we need to find out what form that takes. Government facility quarantine in Cayman means a beach hotel. I don’t think Bucharest will be up to that!
