Canouan, day 4 – admin day

by Oana

Saturday 10-March: We wake up to howling wind in the rigging, gusting to 38 knots at the top of the mast where the wind indicator sits 24m above water level. We decide to stay in the marina another day, considering it has amazing internet and we have no desire to go out there bang into huge seas and winds up to our next islands of Mustique and Bequia.

So we spend literally the whole day compiling video and uploading to YouTube …. as our key readers may have noticed. If it takes you a while to watch them, you can trust us that it took MUCH longer to make them!

In-between this activity Glen services the connection where the anchor joins the chain – which of course can only be done when not at anchor. The last few links of the chain were removed with the grinder because they were starting to rust badly. Also there was some varnishing to the fridge surround, and fixing one lighting circuit in the saloon that had recently stopped working.

Meanwhile, in Oana’s break from social media, she researched then made Thai style sticky rice to go with the delicious local mangoes that we bought yesterday.

By the evening we are both pretty well IT’d-out!  But sitting inside with the air conditioner on was actually a pleasant relief from the sun for a day.
