Back to video editing

Friday 8 May, CY day 55: 7am alarm today, with the aim to complete the velcro gluing on the dinghy while it’s still (relatively) cool. But it rained last night so need to dry everything off first, then mask-off, then sand, then acetone wipe. And by the start of actual gluing, it’s already getting hot. But these smaller pieces inside the dinghy are much quicker to glue than the long perimeter piece around the outside, and by 9am it’s all done. Tempting as it is to now try the cover on the dinghy, I must have the patience to wait at least 24 hours for the adhesive to properly cure.

Rather than start a new maintenance project, we decide to start editing the Jamaica video clips. It’s been several weeks now since we did any editing. With us not filming much these days, our mind has deviated from videos. We had thought we could get all of Jamaica into on video. But no, we have 450 clips! So it looks like it will be at least 2, maybe 3 episodes. By evening we (Oana actually) have done the first pass on the first 160 videos. Good progress. But as we didn’t particularly enjoy Jamaica, it’s a bit hard going to do the editing.

News from the shore today is similar to every day now. A few hundred more tests results and another 1 or 2 positive cases. Even the press seem to be struggling to ask meaningful questions these days. And we note each day the presenters seem to be more and more off topic. Today for instance most of the talk was around VE Day 75th anniversary, Mother’s Day (which is on Sunday) and birthday wishes for listeners. It’s becoming more of a chat show than a serious Covid-19 press conference! So we find ourselves only 1/2 tuning in just lately.
Not much else to report from Cloudy Bay today ….

Hello friends:
We are relatively close to you, trapped in Panama, and waiting to move. Our initial plan was to sail to the USA after here and finally during the last few days the authorities started issuing the documents.
But now, in addition to the health issues in America, we are becoming increasingly concerned about the hurricane season considering that we have a long sail from San Blas to the Chesapeake Bay.
Are you intending to move north too? What are your plans now?
Fair wind: Marcio – SV Biguá
