Monday 4 May, CY day 51: Telephone calls this morning. First to SailRite. I need some more velcro to finish off the dinghy chaps. But their dispatch time is 5-7 days, plus the courier time to Cayman to be added. We will likely be gone before an order could arrive here. So next call is to the local canvas shop. Thankfully, although they are not open for business, they agree to supply us the velcro and also to deliver it to us at the port. Cool, problem solved.
Next call is to GoPro. We’ve had several GoPro video cameras over the years, and all of them have had one problem or another. And our latest Hero7 is no different. This one occasionally freezes, and only able to restart by removing the battery. And lately it started to get hot and draining batteries without even using it. After 1 hour of being interrogated on a chat-line, we manage to get a return label sent to us. They agree to replace the camera once they have received our broken one. Maybe time to consider a different brand for our next purchase.
On deck, the sunbrella for the starboard side reaches completion stage and later in the afternoon we start the port side of the dinghy tube templating. Then the dinghy goes back in the water so we can go shopping tomorrow and pick up the sewing supplies from the canvas guy.
Not a lot else to report. The mood on Cloudy is not good today. I think we are both getting a bit fed up of this confined situation. We need to start planning our exit strategy.
