Sunday 12 August: Boothbay Harbor, more admin.
We wake up to more rain, gloomy day and very cold. Heating on, and we plan to have yet another day inside. Neither of us fancy the idea of making a move in such unpleasant weather.
So we tackle yet more admin tasks: clearing house of paperwork, speed transducer back on, few jobs on the deck when we have a break from from rain, etc.
We also test and install the alarm system that we bought from UK. The 2 alarms, the remote and the transducer are supposed to already be synconised … but of course, they are not. One alarm goes off randomly while the other wont activate at all! Boy Oh Boy, it does make some noise – enough to give a burglar a heart attack. Finally, after deciphering the translated Chinese instructions, the units are all sycronised and working. Transducer on the main hatch, one alarm inside and the other on the mast out of reach. Now we just have to remember to take the remote with us when we leave the boat…. yet another remote to go with the swim platform remote and the aft light remote. Oana is going to need a bigger handbag to go ashore!
In the evening we work on video editing. We are now 2 months behind and really must catch up.
